Tank Pays Homage to Janet Jackson With New ‘Control’ Visual
Tank Enters A New Chapter, Signing with BMG.
Platinum-selling R&B General Tank closes out the year with the release of the official video for his new single, “Control,” a sleek, confident visual that arrives as Tank enters a new chapter, having recently signed with BMG, his new global music home, while continuing to expand his presence across music, television, and Broadway.
Directed by Danil Demichev, the “Control” video is stylish and modern, pairing Tank’s calm, commanding presence with striking visuals and sharp choreography from a cast of dancers that amplifies the song’s energy. Tank remains grounded at the center of it all, allowing the movement to unfold around him while he delivers the performance with restraint, confidence, and intention.

The video follows a busy and exciting year for the singer, songwriter, and actor. In 2025, Tank made a celebrated Broadway debut starring as Davis in Alicia Keys’ hit musical Hell’s Kitchen, where his three-month run drew packed houses filled with fans and celebrity supporters alike. In November, due to overwhelming demand, he returned to the production for a special two-week limited engagement, giving audiences another chance to see him reprise the role that made his Broadway debut so memorable.
Tank also made a standout appearance on The Tamron Hall Show, where he announced the release of “Control.” His charm, humor, and charisma sent the audience, especially his longtime female fans, into a frenzy. He gave a powerful live performance alongside Hell’s Kitchen co-star Amanda Reid, further underscoring his vocal excellence and magnetic presence.

Adding to the momentum, Tank recently earned his 10th #1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart with his feature on Aaliyah’s posthumous single “Gone,” tying him with Charlie Wilson and Usher for the most #1s among male R&B artists on that chart. Meanwhile, the R&B Money Podcast, co-hosted with J. Valentine, returned in a major way, launching the season with an exclusive conversation featuring Alicia Keys, followed by headline-making episodes including the long-awaited B2K reunion, as well as appearances from Ty Dolla $ign, Amerie, and Jacob Latimore. The show remains a destination for candid conversations that celebrate R&B’s past, present, and future.
As the year comes to a close, the video stands as a snapshot of where he is now, with more music already on the horizon.
